Abby Merhege (she/her) is the founder and president of The Youth Athlete Project, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming youth sports through enhanced safety and support. As a young leader, Abby is deeply committed to creating supportive and nurturing environments for young athletes. She has spearheaded initiatives to eliminate abusive coaching practices and integrate essential mental health resources into sports programs across New Mexico.

Currently a member of the Legacy Launcher Summer 2024 Cohort, Abby is expanding her expertise and collaborating with fellow leaders to amplify their collective impact. Through her innovative efforts and dedication to positive change, Abby and The Youth Athlete Project are reshaping the youth sports landscape, ensuring that every young athlete can thrive both on and off the field.
